BOSTON, October 29, 2026 — Flexcar today announced that its members have surpassed 400 million miles driven, more than doubling their total miles driven in just one year as the company continues to expand into new markets and more drivers discover a new way to have a car.
"Reaching 400 million miles is an exciting milestone for Flexcar, but what's even more significant is how quickly we've gotten here," said Ryan Quinlan, President and COO of Flexcar. "Our members drove more than 200 million miles in the past year alone, reflecting the growing demand for alternatives to traditional car buying and leasing. We're grateful to the members who made this milestone possible and look forward to bringing Flexcar to even more drivers across the country."
It took Flexcar members nearly four years to drive their first 200 million miles. They drove the next 200 million in one. Over the past year, that works out to more than 500,000 miles every day.
The pace reflects Flexcar's biggest year of growth yet. The company opened hubs in the San Francisco Bay Area, the New York tri-state area, Greater Los Angeles and Dallas-Fort Worth, and now serves drivers in eight metros: Atlanta, Boston and New England, Charlotte, Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Nashville, the New York tri-state area and the San Francisco Bay Area. Members can choose from more than 200 makes and models, including brand-new 2027 vehicles like the Kia Sportage Hybrid, Volkswagen Taos and BMW X7.
“For decades, people had two ways to have their own car: buy or lease. Buying is expensive, and leasing locks you in,” said Jake Marston, VP of Marketing at Flexcar. “Flexing is the third way, and more drivers choose it every day. Our members have now driven 400 million miles, enough to circle the Earth more than 16,000 times.”
