Safe driving at Flexcar
Nothing matters more than helping you and the people you love get home safely.
That's why the Safe Driving Program comes with every Flexcar. Your everyday habits become a Driving Score you can act on, rewards you can feel at the pump, and help that's already waiting if a drive doesn't go to plan.
The Safe Driving Program
Drive safe, and it pays you back.
Every Flexcar member with a vehicle is part of the Safe Driving Program. Here's how it works, start to finish.
- 01·How you drive
Four factors, tracked as you drive.
Flexcar's Connected Car service looks at braking, cornering, acceleration, and speeding. These are habits, not violations, and most of them are easy to soften once you can see them.
- 02·Your Driving Score
A real-time snapshot, updated daily.
Your Driving Score sits on the main page of the Flexcar app, along with tips to help you improve. It builds up over your first couple of weeks with the car and keeps developing from there.
- 03·Monthly Check-In
Stay in the Reward Zone, earn perks.
Starting at the end of your second month, your score is reviewed five days before each renewal. A score in the Reward Zone can unlock discounts, credits, or money off per gallon through Gas Saver. A score in the Risk Zone may mean a surcharge or service restrictions.
Five seconds
Five seconds at 55 mph is a whole football field, unseen.
That's the whole argument for keeping your eyes up. Nothing on your phone moves as fast as the road does.
Habits that hold up on every drive.
None of this is complicated. It's the small stuff, done the same way every time.
- Connect CarPlay or Android Auto, pick your route, and queue your music while parked.
- Put your phone somewhere you won't reach for it.
- Adjust your mirrors, seat, and climate before you pull away.
- If you're not sure you're okay to drive, you're not okay to drive. Get a ride.
The Flexcar Safe Driving Series
Three short videos worth your time.
Three quick takes on the habits that quietly drag down your score — what they look like, why they matter, and how to smooth them out on your next drive.
Drivers who exhibit these unsafe driving behaviors are 3x more likely to get into an accident.
Don’t be part of the statistic.
If something happens, you're not sorting it out alone.
Accident, damage, or an incident
Make sure everyone is safe first, and move out of traffic if you can. When you're able, open the Flexcar app and report it — even if you weren't with the car when it happened.
Reporting promptly may limit your responsibility to the deductible. Damage that goes unreported may result in full repair costs or additional fees.
Roadside assistance
Flat tire, dead battery, keys locked inside, or a car that won't start? Ask for roadside help in the app and someone comes to you.
Share your location and what's going on, and the team takes it from there.
Driver-assist tech is backup, not autopilot.
Every car is different. Some Flexcars have these systems and some don't, and they behave differently from one make and model to the next. Check your car's manual to see what yours has, and keep driving like it isn't there.
Questions members ask.
A better way to drive starts with helping you drive safely.
A Driving Score that makes sense of your habits, rewards you feel at the pump, and a team ready when you need one. It all comes with the car.
